Eight days from Reykjavík out along the South Coast and the Golden Circle — geysers, waterfalls, a glacier lagoon full of drifting icebergs, whale watching, and two very different kinds of geothermal bathing to end each day on. Go in June and the sun barely sets; go in April and you might still catch the northern lights on a clear night before spring properly arrives.
This is an AskAnt set package — the hotels, routing and inclusions on this page are the ones we run. Ant can shape a fully custom trip around it (dates, add-ons, party size), but the bones of this journey stay as published.
Land at Keflavík (KEF). Private transfer into Reykjavík, check into a hand-picked city-centre hotel. Evening exploring the harbour and old town.
Morning whale watching tour from Reykjavík's Old Harbour, afternoon at leisure in the city, evening soak at Sky Lagoon.
Full-day Golden Circle: Þingvellir National Park (the rift between two tectonic plates), Geysir and Strokkur's eruptions, and Gullfoss waterfall.
Drive the South Coast to Seljalandsfoss (walk behind the falls) and Skógafoss, continuing to Reynisfjara black sand beach. Overnight near Vík.
Continue east to Jökulsárlón, the glacier lagoon strewn with drifting icebergs, and the neighbouring Diamond Beach where they wash ashore.
Guided glacier walk or ice cave tour (season-dependent) on Vatnajökull, Europe's largest ice cap. Return west to Reykjavík.
Free morning in Reykjavík, afternoon transfer to The Retreat at Blue Lagoon for a final geothermal soak and spa treatment before departure.
Short transfer to Keflavík for onward flights home.
The set package stays put. But if you want to make it yours — a helicopter here, a private guide there, an add-on Ant slips in every chance he gets — these are the ones worth the whisper.
A guided night drive away from Reykjavík's light pollution, September–April only.
Inside a genuine glacier ice cave, colour and all.
Drysuit snorkelling between two tectonic plates in glacier-clear water.
A local photographer for the golden-hour waterfall shots.
